EPro8 School Programme
The EPro8 Challenge starts with the EPro8 School Programme. This consists of activities and events that teachers run within their own school. The programme is designed so that all year 5/6 and year 7/8 students can experience STEM learning.
The EPro8 School Programme includes:
- Loan of SIX sets of EPro8 Construction Equipment*
- Access to over 60 activities
- Scaffolded learning for each classroom
- Course options depending on how much time each classroom is allocated
- One EPro8 School Final
- The right to enter two teams into the inter-school events.
Schools choose how long they want the loan equipment, depending on how many classes are taking part and how much STEM learning they want each student to experience. We suggest between one and five days per class.
Note: The EPro8 School Programme is not required for year 9-10 and 11-13 schools. But schools must give students opportunity to practice prior to the inter-schools.
EPro8 School Final
We will provide you with:
- Challenge Cards (one per team)
- Teacher's Instructions
- Access to the EPro8 Live Scoring System, including the leaderboard and big red buttons
- Certificates for the top three teams at the EPro8 School Final.
Over 60 Activities Available
The EPro8 School Programme includes over 60 activities. Activities include the practical application of students' reading, writing and practical mathematics.
Each activity comes with:
- Teacher Instructions
- Activity Cards
- Slide Shows
- Tutorials
- Online Resources.
Suggested course options contain our recommended activities depending on how much time you can allow for the programme.
Classroom Lot of Equipment
We will loan you an additional six sets of EPro8 Construction Equipment. If your school already owns one set of EPro8 Construction Equipment, you will now have seven teams (28 students) to take part in each EPro8 Classroom Event.
We strongly encourage schools to consider having the loan equiupment for longer, so their students have more opportunity to undertake STEM learning.
In order to keep the price down, delivery of the equipment is not included. You may need to collect the equipment from a nearby school (typically this would be less than 10km away).
*For schools that already own four or more sets of EPro8 Construction Equipment then the EPro8 School Programme is provided at a reduced price (as this option does not include loan of extra equipment). And since you own your own equipment then the EPro8 School Programme can be run throughout the year.
Cost
The cost of the EPro8 School Programme depends on how long you want the loan equipment for.
EPro8 School Programme
Base package (two days with the loan equipment) $360
Each extra day with the loan equipment $120
Prices stated include GST.
Schools will run a separate EPro8 School Programme for their year 5-6 students and year 7-8 students.
This programme is attractive to sponsors such as local engineering firms. Please contact us for a template letter to send to a local business for their support.
This cost does not include the entry fee for any teams that qualify for the EPro8 inter-school events.
